BECK ANNOUNCES 50TH ANNIVERSARY CELEBRATION - "THE BECK-MET GALA"
Beck-Met Gala - High Fashion, Entertainment & Celebration
In a dazzling celebration of its 50th anniversary, the Beck Cultural Exchange Center is thrilled to announce the inaugural “Beck-Met Gala,” set to unfold on Monday, May 5, at the esteemed Grande on Clinton Highway, beginning promptly at 5:30 pm.
This enchanting evening will pay homage to the legendary Met Gala, a charity extravaganza that has graced the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York City since 1948. Aligning with the museum’s annual blockbuster exhibition unveiling, this year’s Met Gala theme, "Superfine: Tailoring Black Style," draws inspiration from the thought-provoking work "Slaves to Fashion: Black Dandyism and the Styling of Black Diasporic Identity." We are elated to bring this vibrant theme to life in Knoxville as we host our own “Beck-Met Gala,” timed perfectly with the festivities in New York.
Prepare to be mesmerized as over 25 Dandy Fashioned Black male models grace the runway, expertly styled by fashion guru Tara Davis and her team and adorned with breathtaking jewelry provided by our keynote sponsor, Markmans Diamonds. Marvel at exquisite creations from talented designers Mark Nelson and Frank’s Vintage Closet that celebrate the essence of Black style.
As our guests arrive, they will be welcomed by a flurry of paparazzi, who will capture their fabulous entrances against the backdrop of live music performed by the soulful Brian Clay and his band. The event will feature exquisite decorations by San Denton of Sensational Creations. Guests will enjoy elegantly crafted hors d'oeuvres provided by Sweet-N-Sassy and sip on delightful cocktails from Allow-Me-Catering & Bartending. The evening will reach its peak with a captivating opening extravaganza, showcasing the glamour and flair of YR Productions, along with the enchanting Yvette Rice.
Join us for an unforgettable night that celebrates the richness of African American heritage and style. Be a part of this momentous milestone for the Beck Cultural Exchange Center and immerse yourself in a celebration of identity, community, and legacy.
