Ethel Beck Society Brunch 2026

The Ethel Beck Society hosts an annual brunch to honor the rich heritage and legacy of African American women. All women are welcome and encouraged to join in the celebration! Ladies will enjoy a delicious brunch with mimosas, entertainment, gifts, door prizes, and good company. It's an opportunity to gather, meet new friends, and share the spirit of fellowship and sisterhood. It’s a special time to celebrate and honor inspiring women.

The Ethel Beck Society is named in honor of Ethel Benson Beck (1897-1970), the namesake of the Beck Cultural Exchange Center and an influential woman in Knoxville during the 1920s and 1930s.

Since 2018, the Society has honored a Woman of the Year or Women of the Year each year. These special women join us for a fireside chat, sharing words of wisdom and inspiration about their journey. The event features laughter, fellowship, and genuine, authentic friendship.

The event takes place at Beck and requires tickets. Current Beck members receive a $10 discount, making their ticket price $35. Non-members pay $45. We encourage everyone to become Beck members and support our efforts to preserve history and culture in East Tennessee, a mission we have pursued for over 50 years and will continue for future generations. Please click here to join now or renew your membership. (All memberships must be current as of the event date.)

Current members of Beck may use the Discount Code: BECKMEMBER2 to receive a discount when purchasing tickets.

Agenda:

Guests are encouraged to gather and fellowship outside the Rotunda at 9:30 am to enjoy pictures and refreshments. The doors open at 9:45 am. After guests check in, they are welcome to enjoy drinks, refreshments, and music while finding their seats. All guests are asked to be seated by 10 am so that brunch can begin.

Dress:

The main color for the women of the Ethel Beck Society is yellow. This color symbolizes warmth, sunshine, and positivity, which align with the Society’s values. The women of the Ethel Beck Society radiate enlightenment, and yellow is their color of choice.
